FAQ

What should I wear?

My favorite piece of advice to give clients is to start with your own outfit. Unless you already have something specific you want someone to wear, starting with yourself is an easy way to ensure you look good and feel comfortable while giving you an easy sample to show other family members if they are styling themselves.

To best compliment the shooting style try to avoid bright colors, stripes/patterns, logos or graphic tee's (unless it's a specialty shoot), etc. These all pull the focus away from you and your family.

Neutral soft colors and textures are always complimentary and leave the focus on you. I've created a small sample of 6 color combinations that include soft and neutral colors that photograph beautifully when paired together. You can find these examples at the bottom of the page. If you need more help send me a message and we can work together to find your perfect outfits!

What should I expect?

I love photo's of you doing your thing! I will happily guide your session and pose you when I see fit, but for most of the time I will give you prompts of easy things to do {walk towards me, snuggle and play with your kiddo, etc}. This makes it easier to capture you in your element where you feel the most comfortable.

When is the best time for my session?

Outdoor sessions typically have the prettiest light right before sunrise and sunset. Golden hour is typically when most people want because the light is soft and if the sun is out it's gorgeous!

How do I book?

Go to the "Book Now" tab under "Investment and Booking" or just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click "Book Now". This option is completely electronic and requires payment via debit or credit card.

If you would rather talk to me first, pay with cash, or just don't want to go through the online booking form feel free to use any of the following methods.

How do I pay?

I send all invoices through Square. They're simple and can be paid with any credit/debit card. Your invoice will be delivered via text or email. All weddings or big events must be paid a week before the session. Regular sessions must be paid at the time of booking unless you are doing a payment plan.

If paying with cash or a check it must be received ahead of time as well.

Can I do a payment plan?

Yes! If you want this option just contact me and I can break up your invoice into payments that are best suited to your budget. Any package no matter how big or small is eligible for this.

Please note in the rare occurrence that if the invoice is not paid in full before your session your images will be held until the final payment is complete.

Do you travel?

Let me know where you're thinking and we can usually come up with a plan!

Can I bring people with me?

Yes! If you need a cheering squad then feel free to bring them along! If you want them in your photo's then we can look at what upgrades may need to be made to your package to have enough time for more people.

Can I bring my pets?

Absolutely! Let me know ahead of time so I can plan for them, but unless we are going someplace that doesn't allow animals, I always love that added touch--they are family after all!

Can I bring my extended family to a 30 or 60 minute session?

Typically, this is not enough time for an extended family session. In rare cases when the extended family is very small I can make an exception for a 60 minute session. If you are planning on bringing more people for your session that will be included in the pictures please let me know ahead of time so we can get an accurate timeline and ensure that you have the correct package.

Do I bring my own props?

If you're wanting a specific type of session or theme you are welcome to bring any props, but no you do not have to.

For newborn sessions I have wraps, bows, and plenty of props for baby.

What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?

We can reschedule no problem, or we can use my studio space in downtown Bremen as well.

Can I cancel or reschedule my session?

Of course! Any money already paid will be credit towards a future session.
I get life happens so if you are rescheduling that's just fine, however if you reschedule more than one time I will require payment be made in full if it's not already done.

How long will it take to get my final gallery?

That's a great question! All sessions will have sneaks posted to Facebook and/or Instagram within a few days of your session. If you do not have social media they can be emailed as well if requested. If you do not want your photo's on social media please let me know before or during your session.

For the final gallery it really depends on the type of session you have and if it's my busy season or not. I will usually tell you during your session when you can expect to have them back. On average though anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks at most. If you need them by a certain date please share this information with me when booking so I can ensure that I'm able to get them done in time.

Weddings may take longer, especially if it is during the Fall busy season.

Where do you recommend I have my photos printed?

When I deliver your gallery you will have access to a professional lab and can order from your gallery link. If you have another company you prefer you can always download your gallery and print elsewhere too!

Please remember that stores like Wal Greens, CVS, Wal Mart, etc. are not professional labs and may not give the best quality/color products. For many that's ok, but I always like to make sure to mention it as not everyone realizes this.

You will have the option in your gallery to see a customized print store that already has your images on the products. All items ordered go to a professional printing lab and are extremely good quality.

I want to get into photography, can you help me?

Yes! As someone who was always too shy to ask for help I know how hard it is to do this. Which is why I'm leaving this open invitation.
